Περίληψη:The main objective of this study is the analysis of functional e-tourism, the way social media tools and their use in tourism are linked, its role in the strategic operation of hotels and the consequences for the Greek economy The first part of the study gives the theoretical background of e-tourism, which focuses on social media, tourism and the way in which these concepts are related to the economic progress of hotel facilities in recent years. The second section analyzes the main factor of tourism in the Greek economy and the way it is influenced by the context of Internet applications and websites both in Greece and throughout the world. In addition, the study includes an industrial and economic analysis for hotel businesses in the Greek area, which is done using tools, for example financial ratios. Finally, the last section concerns the empirical part that includes the results of the primary research, according to the hotel managers' replies to Mykonos.
